December 22, 2008 - Custom publishing was a big theme in 2008, providing content offerings to the Internet gods. According to research conducted by Junta42, 56% of marketers and publishers plan to increase their 2009 content marketing budgets, and b2b marketers are spending more than 29% of their budgets on custom content. It’s no wonder that custom media companies experienced revenue growth in 2008. In June, Junta42 expanded to offer Junta42 Match, a custom content matchmaking service.

Meanwhile, King Fish Media CEO Cam Brown reports acquiring 20 new clients in 2008. “2008 was our strongest year ever for new accounts and we found that all of these organizations had a few things in common,” he says. “At the heart of the challenge, they want to create their own content-rich private media channel to talk directly with their customers and prospects. And, they are all looking for accountability and measurable results from their marketing dollars. This is a trend we see continuing and growing in 2009.”
