King Fish Media’s Gordon Plutsky Joins Project to Educate and Support Good Cause
Salem, Mass (April 8, 2009) - 100 marketers. 400 words each. One collaborative book. Project 100: Marketing in the Social Media Era was released today with essays from 100 prominent marketers, all of whom weigh in on the value of social media for business. Among those featured in the book is Gordon Plutsky, the director of marketing and research at Salem-based Private Media solutions company King Fish Media. Plutsky’s chapter, entitled “Creating Your Own Private Media™ Channel” explores the trend and benefits of companies creating their own original content to better engage with customers and prospects by building trust and affinity.
“I am excited to participate in this innovate project as the media landscape has forever changed and marketers need to have a firm understanding of how to move forward,” said Plutsky. “The old rules of marketing no longer apply. Two way communication, content marketing and measurability are taking the place of traditional advertising”
Project 100: Marketing in the Social Media Era was compiled and edited by marketer Jeff Caswell as a means of demonstrating the power of social media while also teaching people its value. By announcing his project online through his blog and letting it spread through word of mouth, Caswell let the process of creating the book serve as a testament the reach and effectiveness of social media. In addition, the contributing authors are all prominent marketers with extensive expertise in their field and a strong understanding of burgeoning social media.
While Project 100: Marketing in the Social Media Era is a clear example of using social media to educate, it successfully illustrates another value of social media: community involvement for a cause. All proceeds from the sale of Project 100: Marketing in the Social Media Era will go to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists who work tirelessly in their fight against breast cancer.
