Nicole Porter
Webcast Director
She describes herself as type A. “No, make that very type A.” When she is done thrilling clients with the kind of work that can only come from a perfectionist, she channels her extra energy into snowboarding or knitting. But not both at the same time. She’s reckless, but not that reckless.

So what exactly does a Webcast Director do?
I execute all our online event programs, along with my team of project managers. To date I’ve produced webcasts on topics as varied as liposuction and accounting. I’m never bored.
Now how would you explain that to your five-year-old niece?
A webcast is like a TV show on the web. But it’s even better because you can talk with the people on the show and they can talk to you. It’s like you’re in the TV with the actors.
What do you love about working here?
I love that when Cam started King Fish there wasn’t such a thing as a “webcasting” business. But he saw the need. And what we’re doing now is totally different from what we were doing then — and what we’ll be doing five years from now — or even one year from now. The technology just moves so fast that it keeps things really exciting. There’s always a new problem to solve. I love that. Plus they gave me a window office and my own parking spot.
Show us a sample of your work.
Here’s a link to a CPA continuing education webcast series we’re producing for Bank of America right now.
The best thing a client ever said to you was...
“You are a lifesaver! Your superior webcast management services are what keep us coming back. By far, you lead in this market in comparison to many other vendors I’ve used.” Can you tell I saved her email?
Why do you think clients like working with you?
I make them look good.
The kind of client you love working with is...
Open to possibilities with no preconceived notions of what works.
You felt you deserved a big fat raise the day you...
Helped land the ON24 account, which ultimately brought us IBM — a really nice win.
How would you describe yourself in three words?...
Detail-oriented, capable, tall.
And what would your colleagues say?
“She makes elaborate breakfast and lunch displays and likes to recycle.”
If someone met you, they’d probably never guess...
That I love Lyle Lovett and Kanye West. That I’m way faster on a snowboard than they could ever imagine. That I can touch my nose with my tongue.
The thing you wish people understood about you is...
I’m really not as uptight as they think I am. I just want the end result to be excellent.
When you grew up you wanted to be...
An orthodontist. Then I realized that meant sticking my hands in people’s mouths all day. Yuck.
If you could be any fictional character, who would you be?
Leeloo from the movie The Fifth Element. She kicks the crap out of a lot of people and then saves the world at the end. I just love that movie.
If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
Cheerios and Tea: Portrait of an Elite Snowboarder.
Would you shave your head for $1,000?
I practically do it for free every couple of months or so now. So yeah, I’d definitely do it for $1,000.
