Kristen Villalongo

Senior Graphic Designer
Kristen Villalongo

Deep down, this stylish, design ingénue thinks of herself as a dork. No, she doesn’t have low self-esteem — she just likes to keep people guessing. Her uncanny ability to bring our clients’ visions to life, more than makes up for her less-than-canny vocal impersonations.

So what exactly does a Senior Graphic Designer do?

We find the perfect balance between imagery, stylized elements and content, and then apply that design strategy across multiple platforms.

Now how would you explain that to your five-year-old niece?
I get to draw pictures all day.

Walk us through a typical day.
I walk in around 8:00 a.m., grab my Greek yogurt from the fridge and then I get ready to tackle the 30+ emails in my inbox. I’ll work all day on numerous projects while cracking jokes and singing (horribly) with the other two ladies in the studio.

You felt you deserved a big fat raise the day you...
Rocked that photo shoot .. and the one on the next day, and the day after that. Hey! Where’s my raise?

What’s your approach to client relationships?
I’m friendly, approachable and always there for our clients, whether that’s helping them brainstorm ideas for a new campaign or helping them pick out a great pair of heels for their sister’s wedding.

When you grew up you wanted to be...
A vet so I could play with animals all day. Then I realized that’s not exactly what vets do all day!

What do you love about working here?
I love working with people who are open to new ideas, new ways of doing things. There is nothing boring about our office.

The best thing a client ever said to you was...
“You know us so well!”

How would you describe yourself in three words?
I’m a creative, reliable dork.

The thing you wish people understood about you is...
Nothing. I like being wonderfully misunderstood.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you be?
Carrie Bradshaw for the clothes alone. But I definitely would have chosen Aidan.

If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
“Too Much Too Soon: 100 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Get Married, Buy a House, and Get a Puppy... All at the Same Time.” Seriously. I need to write this book. And yes, I still have all three.
